Cost of Office Cleaning Services
By ProMatcher Staff
Office Cleaning Rates & Pricing
The cost of office cleaning will depend on:
1) Building or facility size. How large of an office do you have? Many services will base their estimate on the total square footage of area that needs to be cleaned. The size of the building will determine the amount of crew members required for the job as well.
2) Office occupancy. How many people are coming in and out of the office on a daily basis? More people typically produce more trash and use more supplies. This may also increase the amount of time needed to clean the office.
3) Office type. Is this a typical office with cubicles and desks? Or, is this a medical office or healthcare facility? Medical office cleaning is typically more expensive than traditional office cleaning. 4) Geographic location. Where is the office located? Costs can vary greatly from city to city. For example, if your business is located in downtown San Francisco, you can expect to pay a premium for office cleaning services. Prices tend to be much lower in suburban areas and rural towns.
5) Office cleaning contracts. Do you need help once or are you looking for a long-term service provider? Signing a contract with a single company may help you save money over time. A one-time visit is typically a more expensive project.
6) Cleaning schedule. How often does the office need to be cleaned? Once a week? Nightly? Are services during the day as well? The frequency of cleanings will have a significant impact on the cost. The more help you need, the more you can expect to pay.
7) Services required. What type of services do you need? Most office cleaning services will empty trash bins, wipe down surfaces, re-stock paper supplies, re-fill soap dispensers, vacuum, sweep, mop, and do some light dusting. Additional services, such as carpet cleaning, kitchen cleaning, window washing, or floor waxing, may or may not be included. Before signing a contract, make sure to get the specifics of each duty in writing to avoid any confusion about what’s included in the cost of each visit. 8) Cleaning supplies and paper products. Do you plan on supplying the cleaning products? Or, would you like the office cleaning company to provide all of the necessary materials? This will increase the cost of each cleaning visit.
9) Verify credentials. It’s important to verify that your office cleaning service is fully licensed, bonded, and insured. If one of the cleaning crew members gets hurt on the job, you could be liable if the company does not have the appropriate insurance coverage.
10) Compare multiple quotes. We always recommend getting several estimates before hiring an office cleaning service. By comparing each quote, you can decide which company is best suited to suit your company’s needs.
